Planning for Life After high school
Your school counselors are here to help you plan for life after high school. There are many resources that you can find on the Internet and from adults you encounter. Please feel free to ask questions if you have them. Our guidance curriculum includes:
1. A meeting with every Sophomore and Junior between February and April regarding his or her schedule for the following year. Each counselor will discuss the implications of different course selection on career and college preparation.
2. An individual meeting with each Senior in the fall regarding post-graduation plans and necessary steps to follow through with those plans.
3. Visits to East Kentwood from a variety of colleges, universities, and military branches to visit with students regarding future planning.
4. Evening programs for College Information Night, Paying for College, and FAFSA Completion.
5. Classroom visits in the Fall and Spring to discuss preparation for the "next step."
6. Lists of good online resources which can help students and families to negotiate post-secondary options available in the guidance office and on this website.
